Barn Dance - 4th July 08
Pink held a charity barn dance on American Independence day to raise money using their usual flare and style for their sister charities Breast Friends and Little Princess Trust. The evening was a huge success filled with fun and frolics such as an American shoot out, bucking bronco and for those with a sweet tooth a chocolate fountain.
Guests were asked to wear fancy dress and did not fail to disappoint, from Saloon Girls and Pocahontas to Cowboys and Sheriff the room was full of fabulous characters that mingled with images of John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, the Holte Suite at Aston Villa was transformed into a scene from an American western including flags, cactus and even bails of hay it really was a sight to be seen.
A three course meal of soup, chicken wigs, corn of the cob, bbq ribs and beans was served followed by traditional apple or cherry pie with cream or custard all washed down with tea and coffee.
Over 4,000 was raised on the night from a very sucessful auction and grand prize raffle, with the money being split equally between Breast Friends Solihull, Breast Friends Sutton Coldfield and The Little Princess Trust.
